22@ Barcelona Plan of urban, social and technological development in Poblenou

22@ Barcelona project it's the most important project in Barcelona of urban transformation of the last years. They count with 180 million Euros to change all they think they have to change about Barcelona. So, the project consists in transforming two hundred hectares of industrial land of Poblenou into an innovative districs offering modern spaces for the concentration of intensive knowledge-based activities. The main axes of the urban renewal plan are: - Urban density - Diversity and complexity - Flexibility
The reason to chose Poblenou was because it has an industrial past, low density and functional obsolensce and centrality and accessibility. How are they changing Poblenou? -Between 1986-1992 they made a coast renewal. -In 1992 they started changing one area of Poblenou putting underground, public spaces...for the Olympic Games. -Between 1996-1999 they opened the Diagonal Avenue. -In 1997 they connect the National Theatre and the auditorium with the rest of the city. -In 2000 they started constructing new houses and connecting them. It involved 115 houses. -In 2004 they change all the part of the Forum, they put undeground, big infraestructures for the city and the neighbourhood near the Besos River. -In 2013 will be finished the project with the connection of Barcelona with all Europe and the connection of Sant Andreu and Sagrera.
Some of the main thing they are doing to change Poblenou is: increase green spaces, increase facilities, subsidized housing, new mobility model, revitalization of public spaces, new energy networks, underground galleries, advanced infraestructures, industrial heritage, public space renewal... In my opinion, if this project really works would be one of the best things that happen in Barcelona because it's a way to make our city a better place. But from my point of view there's a disadvantage that is that they need too many public Euros to do it so maybe they can look a little bit after it.

TWO AND TWO MAKE FIVE

"Two and two make five" is one of the most important sentences of the third part, it appears in the chapter twelve. It shows us how Winston had to accept that two plus two make five knowing that this is completely imposible.
Everything starts after the state found Winston with Julia, so they, to punish him, took him to a machine that gives electric shocks and the man who is controlling the machine is talking with Winston and showing him his hand with four fingers raised while asking Winston how many fingers are there. Winston is completely sure that there are just four fingers but when he says four, the man switch on the machine producing a terrible pain to Winston. However, Winston still thinks that there are just four fingers until he had a conversation with the man and for some seconds, Winston saw five fingers.
This part of the book shows us how people can change our thoughts, our mind if they have the power. Winston at the beggining was sure that two plus two make four but after the pain he felt when they used the machine, the man could convince him that two plus two make five. O'Brien tortures Winston with electroshock to show him the perception could be manipulated, to make Winston see what the Party demands one should see. So, it shows that once they have tried to change your mind and they do it, you are dead.

I suppose we should say goodbye

We can see that sentence in the last chapter of the second part of the book 1984, that shows us how difficult was to live there doing whatever they want without breaking rules or being discovered.

In that part Julia and Winston are in the room that they rent where was suppose that no telescreen where in there. They are lying on the bed together until suddenly, they hear a voice that repeats everything they say and it says to them that they had to go to the middle of the room, so they can see them through the telescreen and not to move. They knew that they were discovered so, they thought that they should say goodbye because they will never see each other again.
With that sentence, I realise how difficult was to live there because they had to do what the government told to them because if not they could be punished, but they didn't surrender and they fight for their love. I understood, while reading that part, that you cannot trust anybody like Winston trust in the man who rent him the room and tells him that there are no telescreens in there but as the man lie, they are discovered. One thing that call my attention is that when they knew that they had been discovered they knew that they should say goodbye because they were doing something that was forbbiden. I can't stay in their place so I don't know how I would feel about it but maybe, if I knew that they can discover me and punish me I wouldn't do anything.

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

We can see this sentence in the first chapter of the first part of the book 1984. I think that is a relevant sentence because it shows to us the thoughts of the government, parties...

"Ignorance is strength" means that if you believe everything what they say to you and ignore what is really behind, the state and the government will have all the power they want to do wathever they want. The government in that times thought that if the population doesn't know anthing and they can lie to them, everybody will believe in them and no weaknesses within what the government says will never be found, so it gave strength to the parties and the government. So, the ignorance of the population gave strength to the state.

That sentence helped me to understand better the thoughts of the state and the parties in that time and the problems of the society that are really different to our times.

Don't eat that.

Do you know that black chocolate is made by something that it's not good to eat?
A group of scientists discovered last month that one variety of that hard chocolate is made by a mixture of wet sand and droppings from a big variety of animals that are living in a farm in Africa. Some workers of the farm collect all the droppings every week and they send it to a laboratory in Sweden, where all the good chocolates are made. In Australia, there's another farm where they collect wet sand to mix it with the droppings so, after they collect it they send it to the same laboratory in Sweden.
When all the ingredients are collected they put it inside a machine which mix everything and make little figures of a pig with that "chocolate".

The scientists haven't discovered yet which is the ingredient that gives the good flavour to that strange chocolate but they have banned it around the world because it causes too many stomach pain and the farmers are in process of judgement.
Luckily, nobody died because of the chocolate.

The great mouse plot

The woman who owned the candy shop was horrible and anthypathetic. Her hands were black and dirty and she hated us. So, one day in the school I found a dead mouse lying on my candies. That gave me an idea to take my revenge on Mrs. Pratchett. I took the mouse and put it inside a box while I was thinking about what I could do. After the last class of the day I sat with my friends in a bank that was on the street so we could talk about what to do.
After some many time of thinking I had an idea. "What if we look for more mouses and we put them in the candies shop and we call the police to make them come to the shop and to see the mouses and to close the shop because it's dirty and dangerous for health" My friends were agree with that so we went to a lane that we knew that was full of mouses and really dirty. There, we took eleven more mouses and we put them into the box.
Then we went to the candies shop and while one of my friends distracted the old woman I opened the box and left all the mouses free and I put the dead mouse inside when of the boxes full of candies. When we left the shop my friends called the police to tell them that they had saw a mouse inside the candies shop. When the police arrived they went into the shop and discovered the mouses and the dead one too so they denounced the old woman and closed the shop instantantly.

My greatest wish in life

My first memory that comes to my mind when I think about something that I wanted to be, or to do when I was a child it's dancing. When I was five I started doing ballet in an official school because I loved it.I remember that I wanted to do it because one day walking with my mum in the street we saw girls dancing on a stage and I fell in love with it, that was so wonderful...

My mother liked it too much, just as me, she loved seeing me dancing and having fun. So, I was doing two of my favourite things at the same time, dancing and making my mother happy. I was in that school until I had thirteen, so I danced during nine years but I had to stop because of health problems. I think that dancing was my greatest wish in life but I loved singing as well, I sang in a coral since I was two and I really loved it. I think that just the sensation of being on the stage with my friends and singing a beautiful song was something that made me happy, and my mother too.

But when I had to stop dancing everything was a wast of time for me, I became really sad and I had to look for something that returns me to my happines so, as I was already doing castellers I decided to look for something that really liked to me. I decided to do basketball so, I did two days basketball and four days castellers so I had a good time always and I forgot about dancing.
